Understanding the BPR

🔍 CONTEXT

Biocidal products are preparations of biocidal active substances for domestic or professional use. They are used to protect humans, animals and the environment against harmful organisms (vertebrates, bacteria, etc.). 

Since September 1, 2013, biocidal products have been regulated at European level by the Biocidal Products Regulation (BPR).

From now on,  the procedures for placing a biocidal product on the market differ according to the status of the active substance and the target market. In order to choose the right procedure and ensure compliance, it is essential to understand and take into account the regulatory requirements of the BPR.
